At Ambry Acres, every part of our process — from raising the sheep in Ontario to milling the wool on Prince Edward Island — is rooted in quality, care, and Canadian heritage. When it came time to find a storefront partner to showcase our Heritage Collection wool blankets, we knew it had to be somewhere as thoughtful and storied as the blankets themselves.
That’s why we’re proud to share that you can now find our 100% Canadian Heritage Collection wool blankets available for purchase at The Lovely Nelly, located in the heart of historic Georgetown, PEI.
A Store with Soul and Story
The Lovely Nelly isn’t just a charming boutique filled with curated coastal gifts and handmade goods — it’s also located in one of Georgetown’s most cherished heritage buildings. This building was once home to the Knight Pharmacy, an essential part of the town’s life from 1904 – 1956. Locals would have picked up prescriptions, chatted with neighbours, and stepped into the coolness of the pharmacy for a quiet moment in the heat of summer.
Stepping into The Lovely Nelly today still gives you that same sense of warmth and welcome.
A Perfect Fit for the Ambry Acres Heritage Collection
Our Heritage Collection wool blankets are all about storytelling, history, and Canadian craftsmanship. Woven from the wool of our own sheep and milled on PEI, these blankets draw inspiration from the land and legacy of the East Coast. The collection includes:
- Navy & Natural White: Inspired by PEI’s deep blue harbours.
- Navy & Light Grey: Reminiscent of weathered wharf boards and sea-washed stone.
- Blue & Natural White: Soft tones that echo morning skies on the coast.
- Peacock Blue & Natural White: Rich and vibrant, like PEI’s fishing culture.
- Red & Natural White Checkered: A nod to the Canadian flag and to A.A. MacDonald, our ancestor and a Father of Confederation, who lived across the street from The Lovely Nelly.
It only felt right to place these blankets in a store that also honours heritage, style, and Canadian roots.
A Location Steeped in Maritime History
The Lovely Nelly is just steps from the Georgetown wharf, where sailboats, fishing vessels, and sightseeing tours fill the air with salty breeze and coastal charm. Whether you arrive by road or by water, you’re welcomed into a town rich with stories — and now, into a store that carries a piece of ours.
Just across the street stands the Macdonald family home, where A.A. Macdonald lived — the same home our family still owns and cherishes. Placing our blankets in The Lovely Nelly is a full-circle moment for us — one that connects our family history, Island roots, and commitment to Canadian-made excellence.
Visit The Lovely Nelly — and Bring Home a Piece of PEI
If you’re exploring PEI this summer, don’t miss Georgetown. Stroll the town, grab a coffee, and stop in at The Lovely Nelly to discover handcrafted gifts, stylish accessories, and now — Ambry Acres wool blankets.
