Jump to RecipeThis is a super simple recipe that a close friend of ours from Prince Edward Island, Winnie Yorston, shared with us. We like to make this recipe because Winnie and Stephanie fish the scallops every Fall. We are so fortunate to have such wonderful friends that we can enjoy cooking tips while enjoying fresh scallops to cook with.
All that you will need is –
- Scallops
- Pure Maple Syrup
- Bacon
The night before –
- Place scallops into a Ziploc bag and cover with pure maple syrup.
- Place on a plate and inside the fridge over night
Next day steps include –
- Preheat oven 425 F
- Remove the scallops one at a time
- Cut the bacon slices into halves
- Wrap each scallop with bacon
- Insert toothpick to hold together
- Place onto a baking sheet and cook until the bacon is done
- Takes about 20 minutes.
The maple syrup will crystallize and make for a sticky delicious appetizer
